High Standard Series 104 Slant Grip Frame Pistols The series 104 pistols were introduced in 1963. There were four models in this series: Trophy, Citation, Olympic, and Victor, with several catalog number variations for each model. Oct 12, 2015 High Standard Supermatic Citation. Registered Users do not see the above ad. I have this very nice gun with a 5.5 inch barrel. I acquired it in 1982. Took it in trade for work for closing out a gun shop gone bankrupt. On a High Standard Supermatic? What feed ramp? High Standard target pistols - especially those made in their Hamden, CT.
I acquired this pistol from a friend's father today for very little money. He didn't seem to know much about it, other than it was accurate and that he had no use for it. It is a High Standard model 103 Supermatic Citation made in Hamdem Connecticut in 1960ish. It has adjustable sights, barrel weights and what looks like a compensator.
I've searched high and low on google, but it's hard to find any concrete information regarding this exact model of pistol because High-Standard made so many similar to it. Sorry if the picture suck, i can supply more if anyone would like them.
My biggest questions are:

The Olympic Citation is chambered for the cal.22 short cartridge and is convertible to cal.22 long rifle with a conversion unit. Factory installation of these conversion units is required. The Supermatic Trophy is the deluxe model featuring high-polish blue finish, checkered walnut grips, and gold-plated trigger and safety button.
How do i field strip it?
Can it handle modern high velocity .22lr ammo?
I read about a million ways to remove rust. how would you remove the rust from this gun and just generally spruce it up?
What's with the barrel weights?
Do you have any personal experiences with this gun? overall it seems to be a well regarded little target pistol, a role i hope it will serve well for me.
Is this actually an energy beam phaser from the future?
